Making Sense of the Evidence: From Papers to Practice

Available: On-Demand
Cost: FREE
e-book: Included
Length: 60 minutes

Description:
In a time of increasing national concern over healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and patient safety, one the biggest challenges clinicians face is finding, understanding and applying scientific evidence that supports best practice. In many cases, evidence may be incomplete or lacking, but the need to maintain a safe and effective healthcare environment remains urgent. This Webinar will discuss what constitutes infection-related evidence, the differing ways it is used, and will provide tools to participants to facilitate understanding and use of evidence in published studies.

Speakers:
Marcia Ryder, Ph.D., RN, is Co-Founder and Director of Scientific Affairs at the Institute for Vascular Access Advanced Practice. She is an expert in the field of biofilm research and a frequent speaker on infection related issues in vascular access. In addition to Dr. Ryder's extensive background in research, publishing and lecturing, she was honored by ICT in 2006 as Infection Control Educator of the Year.

Marilyn Hanchett, Ph.D., RN, is Co-Founder and Director of Business Development at the Institute for Vascular Access Advanced Practice. She is a nationally recognized author and speaker and has worked extensively in the area of biologic therapies. She also has an in-depth background in educational program development and tool design.
