With the expiration of the Wicker Amendment, there is much confusion and anxiety regarding OSHA enforcement of respiratory protection programs in healthcare facilities.  This webinar will present the current regulations, highlight the key differences between the various types of respirators for healthcare workers and educate the audience about product alternatives that do not require fit testing.

Stephen A. Burt is President and CEO of Healthcare Compliance Resources of Roanoke, Virginia. He continues to be one of the most popular speakers in the southeast on OSHA, EPA, HIPAA, and management topics for healthcare providers conducting full-day seminars for the University of North Carolina, Duke University, East Carolina University, the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association, the Medical Group Manager’s Association, and the American Hospital Association, among others. He was the featured speaker on Respiratory Protection at the Association of Occupational Health Professionals in Healthcare (AOHP) 2007 National Conference. Steve has been involved in surveying healthcare facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and JCAHO regulations since the early 1980s.

Dr. Roy McKay, Director of Occupational Pulmonary Program at the University of Cincinnati Center for Occupational Health

Dr. McKay has more than twenty years experience with respiratory protection, pulmonary function testing/evaluation, and airborne hazard assessments at the University of Cincinnati. In addition to his faculty appointment, Dr. McKay is director of the Occupational Pulmonary program at the Center for Occupational Health. Dr. McKay has taught respiratory protection and pulmonary function testing worldwide with training programs given in Japan, England, Germany, Australia, Belgium, Mexico, China, South America, and many other locations. Dr. McKay has numerous prestigious committee appointments with responsibility for setting standards worldwide.

Grant Rowe, Product Manager, Respiratory Protection, Bullard

Grant Rowe is an active member of AOHP, APIC, and AARC. He has worked in the safety industry for eight years. In his role as Product Manager for Respiratory Protection, Grant has given technical presentations for several hospitals and industry groups including the Association for Industrial Hygiene (AIHCE 2007).
